NaturalNews.com is one of the strangest sites I’ve come across. Thinking about it more, however, it’s not very strange at all. This is the state of the modern conspiracy crowd. I used to think that, when it came to people like antivaxxers, there was a tenuous alliance between left-wing New Age types and right-wing traditionalist types. This certainly isn’t true anymore (if it ever was). Today’s conspiracy theorists, though they have a bizarre hodgepodge of beliefs, put up a relatively united front. NaturalNews.com is a case in point.

An article entitled “Washington state Democrats propose ban on gas-powered lawn equipment to fight ‘climate change'” has the following tags: badpollution, banned, cancel Democrats, carbon dioxide, climate alarmism, climate change, deception, Ecology, environment, fake science, gas-powered lawn tools, green living, Green New Deal, green tyranny, greenhouse gases, Greenpeace, insanity, junk science, law, left cult, lunatics, products, and propaganda. A closer look at the tag “green tyranny” reveals over 1,000 articles with that tag.
At the same time, the store sells health products, foods, and nutritional supplements that are organic, free from antibiotics, growth hormones, pesticides and GMOs, and so on. What I find most strange about this is how subtly antagonistic it is to agribusiness, which I would have expected right-wing nuts (the people, not the almonds) to support.
Like Wisconsin Christian News, all these conspiracy theorists seem to have to same issue with using JPEGs when they should be using PNGs.

Here’s another gem: “COVID ‘vaccine’ genocide a long-planned, carefully orchestrated depopulation operation to exterminate human beings.” Tags: antiwhite, badhealth, badmedicine, big government, Big Pharma, Christians, Collusion, conspiracy, COVID, Dangerous Medicine, deception, depopulation, evil, genocide, insanity, New Zealand, pandemic, pharmaceutical fraud, Twisted, Vaccine deaths, Vaccine Holocaust, vaccines

At the bottom of every page there is this interesting disclaimer: “All content posted on this site is commentary or opinion and is protected under Free Speech. Truth Publishing International, LTD. is not responsible for content written by contributing authors. The information on this site is provided for educational and entertainment purposes only. It is not intended as a substitute for professional advice of any kind.” There is very little information on this company Truth Publishing International, LTD.
The Institute for Strategic Dialogue published 48-page document: Anatomy of a Disinformation Empire: Investigating NaturalNews.

Suffice it to say that organizations like this are extremely dangerous, as is the entire network of conspiracy sites. One site that NatureNews.com links out to is evil.news.

Note the characteristic technical issues with the site and use of CAPS for emphasis. These articles are very reminiscent of what I’ve discussed previously regarding other conspiracy theorists. There is an entire ecosystem online of these people.
When I look at sites like these, I feel like I’m turning over a rock to find bugs and worms underneath. It shouldn’t startle me, and yet it does. How does one even begin to approach this problem? Can people caught up in the conspiracy world be reached?
